Two late passengers sprinted across the airport ramp at Moscow Sheremetyevo in high heels, chasing their Aeroflot flight as it was being towed away. Boarding had already finished, and the aircraft was moving toward the runway when the pair slipped through a secured door and onto the tarmac, forcing ground workers and police to intervene.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, raised immediate security concerns. The women managed to bypass restricted areas and get close enough to interrupt ramp operations before being stopped. Airport authorities have not yet explained how they accessed the secured zone, but an investigation is underway to review access protocols.
Aeroflot confirmed that the passengers missed their flight and were rebooked on a later departure. The airline also reminded travelers to arrive early and heed final boarding calls. The runway disruption caused a brief delay, but operations returned to normal shortly after the pair was escorted away. No injuries or damage were reported.
